New to the list---question
I love 1-hit wonders...many of my favorite songs fall into this category. I stumbled across this site and I bookmarked it immediately as a favorite.

I'm looking around for an answer to my question, but I can't find it. It seems like an obvious one, but I don't know. What qualifies an artist to be out here?

Like I said, it sounds obvious, but I notice some listings out there that don't fit the "obvious" answer. For instance, I see Lynn Anderson's "Never promised you a rose garden," and well, she isn't a one-hit wonder.

Doing a quick search I found these two items, "Billboard currently ranks Lynn Anderson among the top ten most successful female country artists for all-time record sales" and, "Lynn Anderson has racked up eight No. 1 records, 18 Top 10s, over 50 Top 40 hits, and 17 Gold albums." Both of these really disputing her status as a one-hit wonder.

New to the list---question
Fair or unfair, I think a "hit" is considered a song that enters the Billboard Top 40 Pop charts, and excludes entries on the many other recording charts, such as country. Lynn Anderson had only one Billboard Top 40 Pop hit, although she had many country chart hits. She even had other Billboard Pop hits, but they did not break the Top 40. This is according to my Billboard Pop Hot 100 source.
